Delusion is Devotion
A romantic guide to curating your dream life in pixels via vision board
THE ART OF SEEING BEFORE BECOMING
I used to use Pinterest the way one window-shops at a luxury boutique—never with the intention to possess, only to ache with admiration for what seemed forever out of reach. I scrolled not to claim, but to yearn. In hindsight, that approach feels like an insult to the tool it’s become in my life. Pinterest is no longer just a glossy catalog of the unattainable. It’s a mirror, a manifestation engine, a map. I’ve learned to shift from the art of seeing to the art of becoming—to trace my longings not just as fantasies, but as plot points on the story of who I am becoming.
Vision boarding isn’t delusional—it’s devotional.

WHAT IF THE FUTURE YOU DREAMED OF WAS ALREADY WHISPERING TO YOU IN PICTURES?
Being attracted to something is subconsciously claiming it for yourself. What you consume is so important. Have you ever noticed how you start to pick up on your friend’s mannerisms and lingo after hanging out with them for a certain period? Why would media be any different?
It is important, first, to acknowledge what you have. You must romanticize your life and become your own partner and see your potential, not your enemy. Doing this is the first part of seeing before becoming. You must see yourself stripped, go back to your roots and ask yourself important questions. These questions don’t need a concrete answer, and you may find it better to have an open-ended answer that broadens your understanding of yourself more.
PIN WITH INTENTION
You need to be able to see both yourself as you are now, and who you want to become in order to create that crisp line to each other. In order to understand yourself, your task, your mission.
Use quotes that inspire you and emphasize your goal. Include photos of different settings you find yourself in or want to integrate. Add photos of rituals such as journaling, oiling your hair, skincare. Add a romantic flair to soften you, that make you emotionally drawn to your vision.
The goal is to be able to relate to each photo on your board like a bingo card.
USE IT RITUALISTICALLY
Guide readers to make vision boarding a practice:
Set as wallpaper
Revisit weekly maybe with a special playlist
Light a candle and pin during slow Sunday mornings
Don’t be afraid to be adding and removing pins—this is a living document.
What is something you’ve pinned that already came true?
BECOMING THE BOARD
Creating a vision board is a kind of magic. It’s an act of becoming—of learning yourself in the process of gathering dreams. You begin to notice how much of who you are already lives inside the images you’re drawn to. Your board becomes a mirror, a manifesto, a soft place to land. It is an interactive dreamscape at your fingertips. In curating your vision, you’re building a world designed for your own self-expansion. What could be more powerful than that?
